Holy Spirit Day

Every year, on the fifty-first day after Easter, the Orthodox Church celebrates an important holiday – Holy Spirit Day (often called Monday of the Holy Spirit). In 2022, the date of the celebration falls on June 13. The event marks the moment of ascent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles

God’s day begins with a big evening prayer, followed by a small dinner. Believers dry flowers and light candles for peace. Ukrainians have a Holy Spirit Day consecrate wells, because that is where mermaids hide. It is also forbidden to disturb the land, work, sew, clean and go to the cemetery during the holiday.

There are several folk signs to Spiritual day: the weather of this day determines the weather for the whole summer; the holiday will definitely bring warmth, but don’t wait for warming before that; the rain promises that the next two seasons will be sunny.
