On the first Sunday of June, water management workers in Ukraine celebrate a professional holiday – Day of water workers. The date was officially introduced on March 18, 2003 by the Decree of the President of Ukraine. Since then, the professional holiday has been celebrated every year. The meaning of this holiday is very important, because water is the source of all living things on earth. Therefore, careful use of resources is a priority task not only in Ukraine, but also in the whole world. Rational use of water resources, provision of water to the population and industrial enterprises, economical distribution, conservation, use and disposal of water – all these works are the responsibility of water management workers.

Interesting facts about water management of Ukraine

• Ukrainian water resources formed from river waters. Dnipro, Dniester, Siverskyi Donets, Southern and Western Bug are rivers that provide the main water potential. It is supplemented by small rivers of the Black Sea and the Azov Sea. Almost 210 cubic kilometers are the water resources of the rivers.
• Water management of Ukraine more than three thousand kilometers of water pipes of group and local importance are used. The protection of these resources must take place constantly. This is exactly what water farm workers do.
