Collector’s Day

In Ukraine, on August 1, it is customary to congratulate tax collectors with a professional holiday – Collector’s Day. Every day these people, risking their lives, transport money, jewelry, securities, precious metals, etc. They must also be able to perform the duties of a cashier, understand banking devices and documents.

The history of the Collector’s Day

The date of the celebration is connected with the formation in 1939 of the first brigade of collectors at the state bank.

  • To be a tax collector, a person must have the citizenship of the country where he will work.
  • A person who has not served in the army and has not completed specialized courses cannot be a collector.
  • It is possible to start work only after passing a 3-month trial period.
  • The collector has the right to use firearms in critical situations.
  • All parts of the collecting machine are protected from direct impact of bullets.
  • During the movement of the collection vehicle, it is constantly monitored.
  • Bags for transporting money and securities are provided with several levels of protection, which excludes unauthorized access.
