Every year on December 28, the world celebrates Calendar daythe date of the celebration was chosen in honor of the publication of the first civil calendar edited by Jacob Bras in 1708.

Yakov Bras was the head of the printing business in Muscovy, where previously only Orthodox holidays were observed. In Ukraine, the Gregorian calendar was introduced on February 25 (12), 1918.

The term “calendar” has several interpretations:

• it is a reference system based on the cycle of changing seasons and changing phases of the Moon;
• a list of days of the year with monthly and weekly sections;
• a periodical with a list of days, weeks and months.
