World Hydrography Day
It is celebrated on June 21 every year World Hydrography Day. The holiday was started by the United Nations on November 29, 2005. The date of the celebration was chosen in honor of the anniversary of the creation of the International Hydrographic Organization, which was established in June 1921.
What is hydrography?
Hydrography studies and measures oceans, seas, rivers, lakes, etc., and their relationships with climate, soil, mountains, plants, etc. The essence of hydrography is to support maritime activities (economy, science, nature protection, defense) and establish high-quality navigation.
The purpose of World Hydrography Day
