Proclamation Day of the People’s Republic of China

Since the establishment of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, the celebration has been held every year on October 1. The People’s Republic of China was proclaimed by Mao Zedong in Tiananmen Square after the Chinese Communist Party’s victory in the Civil War. The Central People’s Government officially approved the holiday of one of the world’s most powerful states on December 2, 1949, passing the “Resolution for the National Day of the People’s Republic of China.”
