The Orthodox Church celebrates February 3 every year Memorial Day of Saint Maxim the Greekwho was a well-known publicist and translator.

Maxim the Greek was born in the 15th century in the Greek city of Arti, his parents were wealthy people. After long travels around the world, Maxim became a monk, and throughout his life he was actively involved in translating Christian religious texts and writing journalistic works on various topics (for example, works against other religions or against superstition). Saint Maxim the Greek lived to be 70 years old, he was buried near the Trinity-Sergius Monastery, where the saint spent the last years of his life in exile.
