International Day of the Spanish Language
Every year, the world celebrates April 23 International Day of the Spanish Language. The date of the celebration was chosen in honor of the date of death of the outstanding Spanish literary classic, the author of the famous novel “Don Quixote” – Miguel de Cervantes. The holiday was started by the United Nations on February 19, 2010.
International Day of the Spanish Language aims to call humanity to multilingualism, to increase interest in language learning, to promote the use of Spanish as one of the six languages of the United Nations.
