Independence Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

September 2 is celebrated Independence Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. It was on this day in 1945 at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi that President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration officially declaring independence from Japan and France and the sovereignty of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. This event is celebrated as a national holiday.

The symbol of the celebration is the red-yellow flags that decorate the country on this day. Also, everywhere on the streets you can see posters with the image of the president at the moment when the speech was read in 1945. Every year on this day, a festive march takes place in Ba Dinh Square, and fireworks and fireworks are launched in the evening in all major cities.
