The third Wednesday of September is a holiday for Ukrainian HR managers, personnel management specialists – Day of the HR manager. The prefix HR in the name of the profession is an abbreviation of the phrase human resources.

The first professions similar to modern HR management appeared as far back as 1835. Then a resolution was issued that regulated the relationship between factory owners and hired workers. In this resolution, the positions of specialists who were engaged in the organization of workers’ work were officially defined. In the times of the USSR, this profession was called “personnel worker”, which was replaced by the more modern and progressive profession of HR manager.
