Every year on June 13, one’s own birthday is marked by a wire fastener known to everyone – a pin – Birthday pins. It was on this day in 1825 that an American inventor named Walter Hunt received a patent for a pin.

An interesting fact about the pin

Hunt’s goal was not the invention itself, but the money for it. The fact is that the mechanic owed $15 and had nowhere to get the money. Walter Hunt quickly drew a sketch of the pin, for which he earned as much as $400. The pin allowed the mechanic to easily get rid of the debt, but the inventor was left without the right to his own invention.
