World Day of City Planning (Urbanism)

Every year on November 8, the whole world celebrates the Day of City Planning (Urbanism), which was invented to draw attention to urbanism and the development of urban infrastructure. The proposal to introduce such an event was first made in the 40s by Carlos Maria della Paolera, a professor at the University of Buenos Aires. Already in 1949, the celebration of the World Day of Urban Planning began.

On November 8, builders, architects, constructors, designers, foremen, painters, builders, etc. receive greetings. Thanks to these professions, each city, village and metropolis gets its own unique look and style. The quality of buildings and infrastructure as a whole depends on the quality of work, so it is unacceptable to neglect urban planning specialists. UN representatives call on cities to develop more actively, and citizens, in turn, to take the initiative in this development.
