World Bamboo Day

Every year, September 18 is celebrated around the world Bamboo Day. It was first celebrated in Thailand in 2009. The main goal of the initiators of this day is to draw the attention of mankind to such a valuable plant as bamboo. They want to convey that revealing its full potential will be a great contribution to the cause of environmental protection, and the increase in bamboo plantations will help the development of new industries.

Due to the fact that bamboo has antibacterial and hypoallergenic properties, it has become very popular in the textile industry when making bed linen, blankets and pillows. Its use in construction, furniture production, musical instruments and paper is spreading.
