Sunday of All Saints of the Ukrainian people

The celebration was introduced by the decision of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC in 1991 Sunday of All Saints of the Ukrainian people on the fourth Sunday after the Feast of the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit. This holiday is considered almost national and church. It glorifies our great brothers and sisters, our forefathers, who rested and received eternal glory in the Kingdom of God, and the crown that the Lord promised to everyone who loved him with all his heart.

The decree of 1991 became a great historical event for the entire Ukrainian people, an act of the Lords, who established one Sunday a year to glorify the names and deeds of all great and holy fathers, brothers, and sisters who were witnesses of Jesus, luminaries and examples of high love for one’s neighbor and to the Almighty. On All Saints’ Sunday, the Ukrainian people pay the greatest respect and pray for the martyrs, confessors and all the holy saints of God.
