International day for the liberation of prisoners of Nazi concentration camps

We celebrate April 11 every year International day for the liberation of prisoners of Nazi concentration camps. The date of the memorial day was chosen in honor of the uprising of the prisoners of the concentration camp against the Nazis, which took place on this day in 1945.

The prisoners of the Buchenwald camp, which was located in central Germany, organized and carried out a mutiny, while most of the Nazis fled the camp, fearing the arrival of the Americans.

During the Second World War, the German Nazis destroyed more than 11 million people in concentration camps, among whom every fifth person was a child. The Hitlerites created 14,000 concentration camps, where they brutally killed, raped, tortured people, and exploited the labor of prisoners.

The purpose of the event is to honor the memory of the dead and remember the brave deeds of people in difficult war times.
