Nowruz

Every year during the spring equinox, Turks, Iranians and some Caucasian peoples celebrate the traditional national holiday of the Persians, which means the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new life — Nowruz (translated from Farsi as «new life»). On February 23, 2010, the United Nations announced International Navruz Day with a fixed date of March 21.

Nowruz marks more than 300 million people on the planet. Crimean Tatars celebrate the beginning of spring on the territory of Ukraine.

During Navruz, fortune-telling is done, guests are visited, archery is held, and so on. In addition, candles are lit in the house and 7 traditional dishes are prepared.
