What day is it?

In 2018, the calendar of official holidays of Ukraine was supplemented with another interesting event — Afternoon massage therapist. Since then, massage therapists have the opportunity to celebrate their professional holiday every year on February 7.

How did the idea of ​​celebrating Masseur’s Day in Ukraine come about?

The event was approved by the All-Ukrainian Association of Massage Specialists at the initiative of public organizations and leading institutions in the fields of medicine, wellness and massage.

The main goal of the event is to celebrate everyone who loves their difficult, but interesting and useful work, gives a part of themselves to people to improve their well-being, as well as to unite specialists of various massage techniques.

For the first time, the influence on human bodies with the help of hands was described by the Chinese and Indians about 3 thousand years BC. Massage techniques were used to treat sprains and rheumatic pains, relieve fatigue and muscle spasms. The first Ukrainian cities where from the 19th century began to study massage techniques, there were Odesa and Kharkiv.

Profession masseur requires physical endurance and knowledge of various areas of medicine. After all, massage helps to prevent and cure many diseases without medication. And psychological knowledge and sociability come in handy for a good specialist who not only performs his work well, but also shares a positive attitude with his patients.
