World Pharmacist Day

World Pharmacist Day celebrated every year on September 25. Pharmacists are pharmacy workers. They make a huge contribution to the health of the population. These are people who have a special medical education, which gives them the right to store and correctly select the components of medicinal products, advise buyers about drugs, keep records of prescriptions, etc. Most of them cooperate with hospitals, laboratories and factories.

The holiday was officially approved in Turkey in 2009. It was in Istanbul that the International Pharmaceutical Organization (IPO), which is a partner of the WHO, was founded. Since then, pharmaceutical workers have been celebrating their professional holiday every year.

In Ukraine, the holiday was celebrated for the first time in 1999, according to the approved presidential decree. There are about 350,000 employees in this industry.
