World Day of Environmental Education

It is celebrated on January 26 every year World Day of Environmental Education, which was initiated by international organizations. The event is timed to draw people’s attention to the problems of environmental pollution. People can influence the quality of their lives through increased environmental awareness, which is the main and ultimate goal of celebrating the holiday on January 26.

World Day of Environmental Education was launched in 1972 in Stockholm at a UN seminar. But it was after the International Conference on the Environment in Belgrade in 1975 and the publication of the special Belgrade Charter of Eco-Education that the ceremony was officially approved. Traditionally, all citizens of European countries participate in the celebration of the event, going out to clean yards and streets.
