Independence Day of the Republic of Turkmenistan
The main national holiday in Republic of Turkmenistan celebrated on October 27 – Independence Day. The history of the holiday of the Central Asian country began in 1991, when the Verkhovna Rada of the TRSR adopted the corresponding law. Since 2018, the holiday has been moved to September 27 by decision of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan. It is assumed that the new date Independence Day chosen in honor of the closing of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
