Day of the middle child

August 12 is celebrated Day of the middle child or Middle Child’s Day.

The history of the creation of the Day of the Middle Child

This day was introduced by Elizabeth Walker in 1986 and is dedicated to middle siblings.

It is believed that the order of birth of a child affects various character traits, therefore “middle child syndrome” is a universally recognized concept. Usually, the oldest and youngest children in the family are more open, sociable, and the middle one is more calm, sometimes withdrawn, lonely. An average child it is more difficult to become a leader because there is an older brother or sister. At the same time, she is no longer the youngest, so she is less protected, she is less often indulged. That is why it is important to remember that every child is important and precious.

The purpose of Middle Child Day

Middle Child’s Day gives middle children a little more deserved attention. On this day, they have the right to enjoy life, have fun, accept compliments and feel special.

How to spend this day?

On this day, spend more time together with middle child: cook your favorite goodies, visit a coffee shop or a cinema, go for a walk, just call and find out about business and health, etc. If your family already has several generations of middle children, get together and have fun.
