World Earth Day

Every year on March 20 or 21, a relevant and important holiday is celebrated – World Earth Day. The date of the celebration is chosen in honor of the vernal equinox, so it does not have a fixed day. It is during the equinox that nature wakes up, which is very symbolic. The event was started in 1970 after a successful campaign by Gaylord Nelson and Dennis Hayes. The action took place on April 22, so a similar holiday is celebrated on this day.

World Earth Day aims to draw the attention of humanity to its home – the planet Earth, involvement in the preservation of nature and peace, raising awareness of environmental problems. The event was created to unite the world to overcome global problems.

Various events are organized until March 20, where current environmental problems are discussed and information about them is disseminated in society.
