Memorial Day of Saint Ephraim the Syrian

Every year on February 10, the Orthodox Church honors memory of Saint Ephraim the Syrianwho was a poet, theologian and Teacher of the Church.

Ephrem the Syrian was born in the Roman Empire (the ancient city of Nisibiya, which is now called Nusaybin) around 306 in a Christian family, and died on June 9, 373 in the city of Edessa (modern Sanliurfa). The most important work of the monk is the interpretation of the Holy Scriptures, also St. Ephraim is the author of teachings, sermons, prayers, hymns and prophecies. Ephraim the Syrian had the talent of a mentor and teacher, loved to travel and be alone.
