World Unemployed Day

World Unemployed Day falls on January 28. There is no information about its initiators. However, the very idea of celebrating this day was supported by state institutions, public organizations and activists from different parts of the world. The purpose of the holiday is to draw the attention of the public and states to unemployment, as a result of which millions of people from different countries are left without means of livelihood.

Unemployment is a problem not only of the unemployed people themselves (including mothers of many children, people of pre-retirement age, people with disabilities, etc.), but also of the state. Thus, the mass reduction of jobs causes dissatisfaction among citizens, which leads to social and political crises. As a result, full-fledged development, progress and well-being of society becomes impossible, and this affects the well-being of the state as a whole.
