World Patient Safety Day

Coordination of the date of celebration Patient Safety Day took place in the city of Geneva at the meeting of the 72nd session of the World Health Assembly in May 2019.

The basic principle is, most importantly, do no harm. The purpose of official documentation is to ensure the safety of patients around the world, increase the level of involvement of citizens in receiving medical care, and direct actions to increase safety and minimize negative impact.

According to statistics, about 10% of patients are harmed during their stay in the hospital. This happens both as a result of side effects of medications and procedures, and as a result of low-quality provision of medical services.

One of the symbols of Patient Safety Day is marking monuments and other public places with orange light.
