World Day of International Justice

The planet celebrates July 17 every year World Day of International Justice. Such an event was launched on June 1, 2010, during a conference in Uganda.

World Day of International Justice in history

The date of the celebration was chosen in honor of the date of approval of the Rome Statute, which took place on this day in 1998 at a diplomatic conference in Rome. Today, about 150 countries of the world are members of the charter. Based on the Rome Statute, the International Criminal Court was created, which is located in the Netherlands and deals with punishment for serious crimes (torture, murder, rape, etc.).

The purpose of the World Day of International Justice

International Justice Day aims to draw society’s attention to the important role of observing the principles of international humanitarian law, involvement in improving justice at the international level.


How do you spend this day?

Until July 17, meetings of representatives of the states are organized, at which urgent issues related to this topic are discussed.
