International Day against Sexual Violence in Conflict
Every year on June 19, the world celebrates a relatively young but important event – International Day against Sexual Violence in Conflict. This date was initiated by the United Nations on June 19, 2015. The date of the celebration was chosen in honor of the adoption of the Security Council resolution on sexual violence, which took place on this day in 2008.
The purpose of the International Day against Sexual Violence in Conflict
Sexual violence is one of the military strategies, the essence of which is to intimidate the population, thereby obtaining complete control, etc.
Day against sexual violence in the context of the conflict, it aims to draw the attention of mankind to this problem; increasing public awareness of the need to overcome conflict-related sexual violence; honoring and supporting victims; thanks to those who actively fight against this form of crime.
Until June 19, various events dedicated to finding ways to eradicate this problem are being organized.
