Metallurgist’s Day
Every year on the third Sunday of July, Ukraine celebrates a professional holiday – Dmetallurgist (or Day of workers of the metallurgical and mining industry). In 2022, the date of the celebration falls on July 17. The event was launched on June 3, 1993.
The importance of Metallurgist’s Day
Metallurgical industry is considered one of the oldest – the first metallurgists appeared as early as 5 thousand years BC.
Metallurgical activity consists in the extraction of metals from ores, mining – in the extraction of minerals from the depths of the Earth. Without the functioning of these industries, it is impossible to imagine modern everyday life, not to mention construction and industrial enterprises (factories, factories, etc.).
- Today, Ukraine ranks 11th in steel production on the planet. The Metallurgical Museum, built in 1985, is located in Dnipro.
The purpose of the Metallurgist’s Day
the purpose Day of the metallurgist is to draw people’s attention to the important role of workers in the metallurgical and mining industry for the economy of our country, to thank them for their hard work for the good of the state, and to increase the initiative of specialists.
