Lawrence Day
Every year on February 11, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of Saint Lawrence of Pechersk, who was the bishop of Turovsky – Lawrence Day. The monk loved solitude and had the gift of healing.
Signs on Lawrence Day
- It was believed that a red moon is a strong wind, and a full moon can predict the weather for the second half of March. Also, for example, if the forest is noisy, then soon there will be a thaw.
- In addition, in Saint Lawrence Day those who had bad eyesight prayed, because the saint can heal.
- It is interesting that since ancient times Lawrence Day was also considered witchcraft: on February 11, witches brought reason to people, earth and plants.
