International Puppet Maker Day

Every year on March 21, the world celebrates a creative professional holiday — International Puppet Maker Day. The initiator of the creation of such a day was Jivado Zolfagariho in 2000. The event was started in 2002.

The overall atmosphere and success of the performance depends on the skill of the puppeteers. Puppet theater is an ancient art. Despite the stereotypes, the puppet theater actively demonstrates plays for adults as well, not just children’s fairy tales.

In Ukraine, the first puppet theater appeared back in 1921 in Chernihiv, currently there are about 30 of them in the country. Ukrainians love to create traditional puppets in the folklore style.
