International Pi Day
What day is it?
The world celebrates March 14 every year International Pi Day. The event was invented by physicist Larry Shaw in 1987, after realizing that in the American system, the date March 14 is written as 3.14, thus coinciding with the beginning of a mathematical constant.
“pi” is the ratio of the length of the circle to the diameter. It was known even in the ancient world – Archimedes calculated it accurately, and in 1706 the number symbol itself appeared – “pi” .
On March 14, all fans of mathematics use objects or do things related to numbers “pi” discuss the importance of this constant for the world and solve memory training problems using the number.
