International James Bond Day

For moviegoers around the world, the fifth day of October 1962 was especially memorable – the premiere of the first film about the British secret agent James Bond took place in London. The fearless super spy and women’s heartthrob immediately fell in love with the audience. Therefore, on the 50th anniversary of the release of the first film “Bondians”, the International James Bond Day was started, which is now celebrated every year.

The celebration includes a retrospective screening of the film series, the organization of charity online auctions of James Bond memorabilia. Also on this day you can meet fans of the agent in his favorite clothes – a tuxedo.

The franchise about the brave adventurer was filmed based on the novels of the British writer Ian Fleming. From 1962 to 2020, 26 Bond series were released, and 6 actors played the role of secret agent 007.


In terms of success, the series of films became the third longest series in history, repeatedly received prestigious awards. Since the beginning of its adaptation, about 7 billion dollars have been collected, and in the list of the highest-grossing films, it occupies an honorable second place.

On October 5, 1983, an asteroid named after the superhero 9007 James Bond was discovered.
