World Photography Day

An interesting summer holiday is celebrated on August 19 – World Photography Day. This event is important for all photo enthusiasts and those who just love to take pictures. World Photography Day in history

Day of photography (World Photography Day) was founded on August 19, 2009 by the famous Australian photographer Korski Ara, and was celebrated for the first time in 2010. He drew the attention of his colleagues to this date not by chance.

Louis Daguerre

Almost 200 years ago, a new breakthrough occurred in technical progress – Louis Daguerre invented a means of obtaining daguerreotype prints and patented his invention. The French government purchased this patent and announced to the public a new achievement in the field of photography.


Joseph Niepce

Daguerre was not the first to come up with the technology of fixing images on a metal surface. In the early 1820s, this was done by Joseph Niépce, an inventor from France. But it was Louis Daguerre who managed to capture the image on a silver-plated copper plate.

James Maxwell

The first color photograph was taken in 1861 by James Maxwell. It was only in 1981 that Sony developed the first digital camera. Since then, the skill of photography has acquired a completely different meaning, and even more creative people have joined this process.
