Universal Health Care Day

What day is it?

For every person, health is a very important aspect of life. The international community always tries to create conditions so that everyone has access to timely help. Doctors study long and hard to be able to help people. Unfortunately, not all countries provide their citizens with appropriate medicines, tools and equipment to preserve the life and health of the population. In order to spread this issue, the World Universal Health Care Day was created. It is celebrated annually on December 12.

How did the idea to celebrate Universal Health Care Day come about?

In the modern world, doctors have already learned to deal with various diseases that killed countless people a few centuries ago. Today, humanity knows how to cure most diseases and what to do to protect yourself from diseases.

Unfortunately, the standard of living, awareness and progress in different countries is significantly different. Yes, newborn babies on different continents or even in neighboring countries have different chances of survival and longevity.

The World Health Organization is becoming increasingly concerned about the state of medical care in the world every year. In most international declarations on human rights, the right to health is mentioned. That is, all services that are responsible for basic medical care needs should be ready to provide such care.

Taking into account the declaration of human rights, the United Nations confirmed that all countries should provide society with quality medical care. Therefore, since 2016, under the auspices of the World Health Organization, the World Universal Health Care Day has been celebrated.
