Phthisiologist’s Day

Every year on March 24, phthisiatricians celebrate a professional holiday – Phthisiologist’s Day. The date of the celebration was chosen in honor of the day of the discovery of the tubercle bacillus by Robert Koch in 1882.

Who are phthisiologists?

These are doctors who study the patterns of development and spread of tuberculosis, the causes of the pathology caused by tuberculosis, as well as the ways of detection, treatment and prevention of the disease.

Tuberculosis is a dangerous infectious disease, the treatment of which is difficult and in many cases impossible. Physiologists still help people to fight for recovery and timely remind about the necessary preventive measures.
