Investigation Day in Ukraine

Ukraine officially celebrates July 1 Investigation day — professional date of internal affairs workers. It is these people with an analytical mindset, deductive abilities and skills who conduct investigations and untangle both simple and complex cases of various nature.

The history of the Day of Investigation

Occurrence Day of investigation as a professional holiday is very old. Back in 1963, the Ministry of Internal Affairs received the right to conduct a preliminary investigation. Since then, investigators have gained procedural independence. The decree entered into force on July 1, so the professional holiday has been celebrated on this day since 1998.

Who are the investigators?

Specialist investigators work in all law enforcement agencies of the country — prosecutor’s office, police, security service, etc. They collect evidence, conduct interrogations of witnesses and persons involved in cases, conduct pre-trial investigation of circumstances. Investigators adhere to the principles of the presumption of innocence, arrest dangerous criminals, and protect citizens of Ukraine from thieves, fraudsters, and murderers.
