July 4 is celebrated Day of the forensic expert of Ukraine. This holiday is celebrated by those who stand in defense of facts and justice. The day appeared in the calendar of official professional holidays according to the order of President Viktor Yushchenko dated June 10, 2009. The celebration was initiated by the Coordinating Council on Forensic Expertise at the Ministry of Justice. When making the decision to introduce a new holiday, the president was guided by the fact that judicial expert activity plays a very important role in protecting the rights of citizens and ensuring a fair judiciary.

Purpose of the Day of the Forensic Expert of Ukraine

The establishment of the holiday is a kind of tribute from the Ukrainian authorities to the judicial experts of the country for their responsible, difficult and very emotional work. Currently, about 6,000 such specialists (1.4,000 of them are state-owned) have passed certification and are successfully working in Ukraine. Profession forensic expert very important, because it is with its help that justice is done not on guesswork, but on facts and evidence. Thanks to these specialists, the innocent are acquitted and the guilty are ordered to commit crimes. The course of the investigation of the crime depends on the accuracy and objectivity of the examinations.
