Batman Day

Annual celebration events Batman Day takes place on the third Saturday of September. The tradition of celebrating the holiday appeared on July 23, 2014 at the initiative of DC Entertainment.

It is organized in honor of one of the most famous comic book characters, who first appeared in the detective issue #27 of Detective Comics in May 1939. Popularity grew rapidly, so in 1940 the first individual serial publication was formed. The creators of Batman are Bob Kane and Bill Finger. Kane was considered the sole founder of the superhero for a long time, but in 2015 he was officially recognized as the co-author of Finger.

Interesting events are organized on the occasion of Batman Day. In 2019, they celebrated the 80th anniversary of the publication of the first comic by organizing a topical race. A symbolic event was the projection of the beta signal on buildings in 13 cities of the world. The celebration of Batman Day in 2020 took place in virtual mode, the reason for this decision was the pandemic. For users of DC services, they have provided a free opportunity to download several digital comics.
