World Immunization Week
It is celebrated annually in the last week of April World Immunization Week. The holiday was initiated by the World Health Organization. It has been celebrated in Ukraine since 2005.
World Immunization Week aims to draw society’s attention to the importance of immunization – a primary preventive measure aimed at protecting against infectious diseases, as well as to spread the idea of vaccination.
- About 3 million lives a year are saved thanks to vaccines against measles, diphtheria, rubella, whooping cough, etc.
To week of immunization public and medical organizations organize events aimed at increasing public awareness of the need for vaccinations.
