The week of taming animals that are more difficult to tame
Every year in the last full week of September, the world celebrates The week of taming animals that are more difficult to tame.
It takes a lot of effort, time and patience to tame a four-legged friend. After all, the fear of being near a person is the main obstacle for most biological species. The domestication of wild animals was started by primitive people.
The first domesticated animal was the wolf, which, according to archaeologists, was tamed by a resident of South Asia. This event took place approximately 15,000 years ago. It is thanks to wolves that now almost every household has a wonderful animal – a dog.
Domestic cats appeared almost 10,000 years ago. The process of domestication took place thanks to the Libyan breed in the Middle East. Now there are more than 600 million domestic cats in the world.
And here are the animals that man has not been able to tame:
- Hippo;
- Przewalski’s horse;
- zebra;
- elk;
- great white shark;
- savannah elephant and others.
